How very wet the water is

Sometimes it feels right to state the obvious as Scarecrow does after falling into the river in L. Frank Baum’s, The Marvelous Land of Oz.  A friend of mine recently called me out for stating the obvious in our last blog post.  He wondered whether or not senior business leaders would have already thought about the 7 Know Your Customer questions.  It’s a good point.  And, of course, the answer is “yes”.
But that doesn’t mean the leaders in the C-suite share the same beliefs about their customers, can answer the 7 questions with uniformity, and consistently make decisions based on those uniform answers.  In addition, as the blog post mentioned, the answers need to be fine tuned regularly.  Our customers are continually changing; as they adapt to their changing world, we must adapt our practices to them.
That’s the challenge of continual alignment.
